Awesome Peanut Butter Substitute!

So I'd heard some of the other moms gushing about how wonderful this Sunflower Seed Butter was from Trader Joe's but never remembered to pick any up! Man, am I ever kicking myself!

If you've got school aged kids, you are most likely familiar with how common peanut allergies are and how the schools have really taken proactive measures to help out those kids. The kids are pretty good about it and I know my kids are aware of what they are eating more because of it. I can name several of the food allergies their classmates have.

It is a struggle around our house because PB & J sandwiches are always easy to put in lunches, but that means the boys have to sit at the designated peanut table... But no more! The Sunflower seed butter is a super yummy perfect substitue. Do the taste test and I'm sure you'll agree!!!

Another reason I love is that it's made with seeds... Not nuts (like almond butter). Many children with peanut allergies are allergic to all tree nuts. I'd also like to mention that this has a lot less sugar than most of the commercial peanut butters!

Thanks for another great product for healthier living Trader Joe's!!

Great idea! We have the same issue at our school. I am also a huge fan of Trader Joes. :)

Me too. We're really working on trying to make as many healthy substitutions as possible around here. I was soooo happy to find the Sunflower Seed Butter... soooo yummy, it was super hard not to sneak snacks of it! :)

Great to know you love it. It's unopened in my cabinet, hadn't tried yet. Gotta crack it open now.

I used to be a Skippy snob, but I've honestly gotta say I think I'm in love with the Sunflower Seed Butter. My oldest has requested it every day for lunch this week and is very proud when he corrects the lunch supervisors by telling them he doesn't need to sit at the Peanut Butter table. :)
