I'm turning in to my Mom!
Have you ever had one of those moments where it hits you like a ton of bricks that you've turned in to your Mother?
I did the other day. I was in the car and looked down at my hand and saw my mother's hand. You see for years and years I would get the acrylic pink and white nails because I was a nail biter. When I was nervous I would play with my nails and that would result in broken and torn nails more often than not. Recently I decided to skip the acrylic nails (more of a lack of time and an added benefit of saving money).
A couple months ago my nails took off and all of the sudden I have strong and long nails. Nails like my mothers. She had nails anyone would be jealous of and I was normally first in that jealousy line. She would have to soak her nails in water before trimming them. They were THAT strong. She would explain it was the Vegemite she would eat on toast on an almost daily basis. I never could stomach the taste of Vegemite (ever heard of it?) so secretly I wondered if that was why my nails weren't like hers.
Maybe it was finally finding out I am allergic to many foods I'd been eating and cutting them out of my diet that made my nails improve. Who knows. Whatever the cause, I'm thrilled because I'm honored to feel even just a little bit like I've turned it to my Mom and I'll take every little bit of that I can get.

All my life I've been told I'm a carbon copy of my mother but never saw it...until recently. Lately I've taken notice that we do have the same hands, feet & facial features. It's a little strange but I guess I'm happy because she's 50 & doesnt look a day past 40, hopefully I'll have the same luck *fingers crossed*.
