Star Wars - Clone Wars Adventures is Fun for the Whole Family!
So Star Wars really is life around our house. I'm not going to go in to details but let's just say I bet our selection of Star Wars toys beats most (this is going to have my friends rolling on the floor laughing). The Star Wars Clone Wars animated cartoon is DVR'd every week around here and when I found out that the much anticipated online world of Clone Wars Adventures was opening up, I had a sneaking suspicion my kids would be all over it!
Last week we had the chance to test it out for ourselves at a blogger event. The site has been live for a very short time but has already surpassed more than 1 million accounts created (anyone really surprised by this?). Basic accounts are free, very kid friendly and quick to set-up. You're given a character name in true Star Wars terminology and let loose in to this virtual world full of mini-games, challenges and virtual living (this includes your own quarters with furnishings). Note that there are well designed parental controls that prohibit more than very basic conversation or giving out of any personal information, so you don't have to be concerned about kids safety online (a diligent team also works behind the scenes monitoring everything to ensure that).
Star Wars Clone Wars Adventures is definitely fun for all ages, from the young Star Wars fan to the die-hard Jedi (and nope, I know none of them...). The graphics are truly amazing, especially when you take in to account it is all online, not a game you purchase at the store. In true Lucas Film/ Star Wars fashion, the story is seamless, so when you watch the new episodes on Friday night, new areas, characters, clothes and other goodies are opened up the next day.
The site has quickly become a household favorite around here. The Republic Defender mini-game is my boys' favorite game right now. Have you checked it out yet?
