Air and Space Museum in Exhibition Park

So my oldest son is an aspiring astronaut.  He loves everything associated with the planets, stars and everything NASA.  The other day we headed up to the California Science Center in Los Angeles and headed over to the Air & Space Museum (which is also free!).  You can read about the Exploring Trees Inside and Out Exhibit at the California Science Center here.

We were surprised and a bit disheartened to see that is was anything but busy on a Summer Sunday afternoon.  There is so much to see and experience I really don't understand why more people don't take advantage the amazing educational experiences the museum has to offer.

We spend about an hour and a half exploring the museum and my oldest was in heaven.  He brought his Nintendo DSi and was taking pictures of everything, and I mean everything.

All I have to say is that I'm glad technology has developed and our astronauts no longer wear these.  Certainly not a lot between you and the vacuum of space...

There are simulated wind tunnels to explore.  There's a retired L.A.P.D. helicopter to sit in and play around with the controls.
Have you stopped in to the Air & Space Museum?  What did you think?

Thanks for the info on the Air and Space Museum! Another must-see for my kids. Very surprised it wasn't crowded.
